Traffic Safety Program Manager

Juanita Williams

Traffic Safety Program Manager – Florida Department of Transportation

My job responsibilities: Manage grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in program areas: Speed and Aggressive Driving, Professional Training, Community Traffic Safety Teams, and Teens. I am also responsible for managing the Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition.

Why I joined the Coalition: Simply put, it is a part of my job duties. Honestly stating, after seeing the possibilities and what the Coalition is working on to bring awareness to traffic safety for the teens of Florida, I would join, even as a regular citizen.

Hobbies or areas of interest outside of work: I like a balance of both worlds – the quiet peace of being alone and the goofing off with my closest friends.

What was your favorite song when you were a teenager? I didn’t have a favorite song, but a favorite artist.. Pink.

What make and model was your first car? Nissan, Altima

What has changed most about driving from the time you were a teenager to now? LOL!! My aggression and need to get somewhere “really fast”.

The one tip I would give any new teen driver would be: Drive for others, be vigilant and it’s not “cool” to speed.
