Driver Education Coordinator – Florida Virtual School
My job responsibilities: I supervise the Driver Education program at FLVS and work on its continual improvement to help students reduce their risk on the roadway.
Why I joined the Coalition: My mission is to ensure that all teen drivers in Florida have access to high quality Driver Education and driver training. The Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition shares these values and as a member I can serve the state to reduce roadway risk.
Hobbies or areas of interest outside of work: You’ll often find me on the golf course, but more often than not, out on the pickle-ball court.
What was your favorite song when you were a teenager? Most any song by the Beatles.
What make and model was your first car? 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle
What has changed most about driving from the time you were a teenager to now? Vehicle safety has improved greatly but so has the number and types of distractions.
The one tip I would give any new teen driver would be: The road is a place for space. Keep space all around your vehicle and constantly scan for changes.
