Trooper – Assistant Public Affairs Officer Florida Highway Patrol

My job responsibilities: Community outreach, media relations, media interviews, press conferences, press releases etc.

Why I joined the Coalition: I would like to learn more about things I can do with the media and focus on driving education. Young drivers play a big role in our community and anything I can do to teach them and their parents about driving safety is important to me.

Hobbies or areas of interest outside of work: Trying new places to eat.

What was your favorite song when you were a teenager? Hip-hop & rap.

What make and model was your first car? 2002 Honda Accord

What has changed most about driving from the time you were a teenager to now? I know the dangers about speeding because I see the consequences that happen. When I was teenager I wasn’t aware of the possible risks and dangers.

The one tip I would give any new teen driver would be: Relax and slow down. It may seem like a “cool” thing to drive fast and take risks, but as a new driver you are still learning new things and you may think you know everything but in reality there still a lot that needs to be learned.
