Trooper – Florida Highway Patrol

My job responsibilities: Conduct routine patrols to enforce traffic laws on highways and roadways. Conduct criminal investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies. Respond to emergency calls and incidents, aiding in accidents, medical emergencies, and natural disasters. Educate the public on traffic safety laws and promote safe driving practices. Manage traffic incidents, including coordinating with other agencies to clear roadways after accidents or hazardous material spills. Maintain accurate records of activities and incidents. Engage with community, addressing concerns, and building positive relationships. Attend community meetings and events to enhance public trust and collaboration.

Why I joined the Coalition: I joined the Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition because it offers an excellent opportunity to engage with the community proactively, before they encounter potential risks or negative circumstances.

Hobbies or areas of interest outside of work: Boating, vehicles and fishing.

What was your favorite song when you were a teenager? 90s Hip Hop

What make and model was your first car? Ford Mustang

What has changed most about driving from the time you were a teenager to now? One of the most significant changes in driving from my teenage years to now is the integration of advanced technology into vehicles, such as GPS navigation, lane departure warning systems, and smartphone integration. These advancements have greatly impacted the driving experience, both positively in terms of convenience and safety, but also presenting new challenges in terms of distractions and reliance on technology.

The one tip I would give any new teen driver would be: The one tip I would offer to any new teen driver is to always stay focused and attentive while behind the wheel, prioritizing safety above all else.
