Join the Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition

The Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition is composed of organizations and individuals committed to helping teens become safe, responsible drivers on Florida’s roads. Our members include state and local agencies, law enforcement, public health and injury prevention experts, educators, businesses, and families.

We focus on engaging, educating, and mobilizing communities to improve teen safe driving programs, practices, and activities. The goal? We’re all working together to reach “Target Zero” – zero road fatalities and serious injury crashes in Florida.

Coalition members are active participants who are expected to:

Attend at least 50% of the quarterly coalition meetings (two of the four) and actively participate. (Hotel costs are covered through our grant with the Florida Department of Transportation.)
Provide assistance in overcoming barriers and solving problems.
Offer guidance on future programs and activities.
Serve as representatives of the FTSDC in their communities.
Volunteer to participate in one of the three strategic plan goal groups and serve as an action step leader to help ensure the successful implementation of assigned actions/activities.

Teen Strategic Highway Safety Plan

The FTSDC met in July, August, and December of 2019 to identify and prioritize Florida’s most pressing teen safe driving issues and to develop the Teen Safe Driving Strategic Plan. This plan is designed to enhance the State’s ability to reduce both the human and economic consequences of crashes involving teen drivers. All FTSDC members played an integral role in developing, refining, and approving this strategic plan, along with the accompanying action plan in Appendix B, which will guide the Coalition’s implementation efforts over the next five years.
