My job responsibilities
I provide strategic planning and meeting documentation support for the Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition. As a member of several of Florida’s traffic safety coalitions, I am able to help identify opportunities for alignment between Florida’s traffic safety coalitions to advance progress toward our collective goal of zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
Why I joined the Coalition
I came to the Coalition after updating Florida’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP). The Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition is one of several critical implementation arms of the SHSP, and every meeting is incredibly valuable to achieving the goals outlined in the SHSP.
Interests outside of work
I am, first and foremost, a dad to two boys, so most of my time is devoted to chasing them around the house, spending afternoons at the park, and reading our favorite bedtime stories at all hours of the day. While not with my kids, I am a huge fantasy football nerd who puts way too much effort into a game about a game.
Favorite song as a teenager
I could not ever pick just one. I grew up in the height of the pop-punk era and loved most of the bands that played at the Warped Tour in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
First car
2001 Ford Escort.
What has changed most about driving
I do not drive fast anymore. I was never an egregious speeder, but it did not take more than one speeding ticket for me to slow down.
One tip for new teen drivers
Check your blind spots and be aware of the vehicles and people around you.
