My job responsibilities
Event and hurricane response management; liaison between police, fire, and local and national media; project and grant coordinator and manager.
Why I joined the Coalition
To enhance our agency’s involvement in teen driver safety education and develop strategies to reach Target Zero.
Professional accomplishments
More than 27 years of distinguished service to Broward County. Multiple career citations, including Officer of the Year in 2019. Written and directed grant programs generating over $1 million in funding. In my spare time, I also run one of the largest law enforcement charities in the Southeast United States, producing more than $100,000 in charitable revenue annually.
Interests outside of work
Fishing, traveling, boating, and charity work.
Favorite song as a teenager
“Thunderstruck” by AC/DC.
First car
Nissan pickup.
What has changed most about driving
I have not only slowed down but have become more aware of my surroundings. I also look ahead at my approach to intersections.
One tip for new teen drivers
Slow is fast. Taking time to commute while avoiding distractions ensures a safe and prompt arrival at your destination.
