About the Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition

The Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition is a partnership of state and local agencies, educators, injury prevention experts, businesses, parents, teens, and law enforcement working together to reduce crashes, serious injuries, and fatalities on Florida’s roads. Guided by Florida’s Target Zero vision, the Coalition engages, educates, and empowers communities through proven programs and resources.

Who We Are

Funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition is a statewide partnership focused on helping teens become safe, responsible drivers. Coalition members include state and local agencies, law enforcement, educators, healthcare and injury prevention professionals, businesses, parents, and teens.

The Coalition emphasizes practical, evidence-based programs and community engagement strategies that strengthen teen traffic safety. Our efforts align with Florida’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan and Target Zero vision to build a lasting culture of safety.

Join the Coalition

The Coalition seeks advocates with relevant knowledge, professional experience, and a demonstrated commitment to teen traffic safety. Members support strategically developed, data-driven initiatives designed to address identified community needs and improve outcomes for young drivers across Florida.

Member Expectations

  • Attend and actively participate in at least 50 percent of quarterly Coalition meetings.
  • Assist in identifying barriers and contributing to problem-solving efforts.
  • Provide guidance and input on future programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as a representative of the Coalition within their community or organization.
  • Participate in a strategic plan goal group and support assigned action steps.

Lodging costs for members attending quarterly meetings are covered by the Coalition in accordance with FDOT guidelines.
